GOP Presidential Candidate and South Carolina Senator, Tim Scott, is making a four-day campaign swing through Iowa this week, including two stops in west central Iowa. Scott will be at the Carroll Pizza Ranch on Friday for a meet-and-greet at 11:30 a.m. Doors open at 11 a.m., and attendees are asked to RSVP using the link included with this story on our website. Scott will also be in Jefferson Friday afternoon for another meet-and-greet in Bett & Bev’s BBQ at 808 N. Vine St, beginning at 2 p.m. Scott is looking to gin up support in Iowa leading into the state’s first-in-the-nation caucuses. According to Project 538’s polling averages, former President Donald Trump continues to be Iowans’ top choice for the nomination with 45.6 percent. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley continue to fight for the second spot at 17.1 percent and 13.9 percent, respectively. Scott lands in fourth with 7.3 percent, followed by businessman Vivek Ramaswamy at 4.4 percent. National polling averages show Trump leading the field by an even wider margin with 56.6 percent.
