The City of Glidden unofficially launched the holiday season in their community yesterday (Wednesday) with the installation of their downtown Christmas tree. The tree, provided by Larry Bruggeman, was set up in its usual location in the middle of the intersection of Idaho and 2nd Streets, just north of Glidden City Hall. Glidden’s display is consistently one of the largest trees here in the Carroll Broadcasting listening area. It marks the approach of many local communities’ own Christmas celebrations, such as the Carroll Chamber Depot Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m., Coon Rapids 16th annual Christmas in a Small Town on Dec. 2, Glidden’s Winter Wonderland on Dec. 3, and many others.
