The City of Carroll announced yesterday (Friday) that they will commence the traffic study on Dec. 21 for the proposed removal of signals at the Adams and Court Street intersections on U.S. Highway 30. According to the schedule released by Public Works Director Randy Krauel, city crews will begin installing notification signage in the study area starting Tuesday, Nov. 21, to prewarn the public of the upcoming changes. On Dec. 21, staff will place stop signs with supplemental plates and flags on Adams and Court Streets and deactivate the traffic control signals at those intersections. On Jan. 11, crews will remove the advanced notification signage, followed by the supplemental plates, flags, and STOP AHEAD signs on Jan. 22. The study concludes on March 20, and the city council will use the data collected to consider the traffic signals’ removal.
