Monday’s agenda for the Carroll City Council meeting includes only a handful of action items, according to City Manager Aaron Kooiker. The council convenes at 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 11 at Carroll City Hall. They open with public recognition of longtime Adult Services Librarian Donna Evans, who retired this fall after a 15-year career with the library. Kooiker says Region XII Local Housing Trust Fund representatives will submit their Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 funding request of $2,500. Kooiker says they also have a public hearing for the proposed sale of city-owned property.
Carroll County Redemption, LLC, owned by Matt Wendl, requested to purchase the 0.14 acres of land for $4,775. Kooiker says the council appears to support the sale, as it would likely lead to further business development in that area and a larger tax base for the city.
The council then turns their attention to next construction season as they prepare for proposed resurfacing projects. Thirteen sections of roadway are scheduled for maintenance, and the council will review a $260,000 design services contract with McClure Engineering to oversee that work. Kooiker says there may be some discussion on possible renovation work for the Graham Park bandshell.
No formal action is planned for Monday’s meeting. Last week, the council hosted its annual Planning Session at Region XII Council of Governments. Kooiker says the incoming and outgoing council members met to begin setting priorities for the FY25 budget.
Monday’s meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the city’s YouTube channel. Links to the agenda and video are included below.
