A home-building company based out of Des Moines, Origin Homes, opened the doors to one of their custom homes for Manning community members Wednesday. The goal was to show potential home builders what they can expect when working with Origin Homes. Director of Operations Matt Daniels was in attendance, explaining to the 50-plus attendees what Origin Homes can do for those interested in custom homes.
Daniels said that Origin’s goal is to build in all 99 counties across the state and loves how receptive Manning has been to Origin’s ideas and welcoming to present this opportunity to residents. Daniels gives credit to the Origin team, saying it’s a big task finding clients and partnering with developers; that’s why the City of Manning was the ideal place for Origin’s custom homes.
The house at 408 Ann St. is the second custom home built by Origin in the city limits of Manning. The Origin construction crew started building the single-family home in July, and the family is scheduled to move in the following week, just in time for Christmas. From the start of digging the basement until the family moves in, there is about a four to six-month timeframe that Origin says the owners can expect, but there is a process before that.
Origin Homes has planned for five and potentially six homes to be built on Stadium View by the IKM-Manning High School. The pocket neighborhood will consist of the two-bedroom, two-bath, and two-car, alley-loaded garages with a price range starting at $250k. If interested in purchasing one of the lots currently for sale for a custom build house, reach out to the city of Manning. To contact Origin Homes, check out their website and fill out a form, or explore their Interactive Floor Plan Software (IFP), where interested homeowners can create their custom home online, and the plan will be sent directly to the Origin Home team to get the process started.
