The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Board of Directors recently swore in six members to their new terms, including District 3 Director Jim Gossett of Carroll. Gossett joined the DMACC Board in September 2022 following the retirement of longtime board member Jim Knott. He finished the remainder of Knott’s term and was re-elected to serve an additional term in November. Gossett represents much of DMACC’s western service area, which stretches from Carroll to Waukee. His current term expires at the end of 2025. The nine-member board’s purpose is as the community college’s chief policymaking body. Gossett currently serves as the CEO of the Raccoon Valley Electric Cooperative in Glidden.
