Rep. Feenstra Announces Re-Election Campaign

Yesterday (Wednesday), Iowa District 4 Representative Randy Feenstra announced his campaign to seek re-election for a third term in the U.S. House. Feenstra says, “Our country is in tough shape. Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress created the worst inflation crisis in over forty years, left our border wide open, destroyed our energy independence, and emboldened our enemies. Now more than ever, we need strong conservatives to fight back against Biden’s radical, liberal policies that harm our families and our nation.” During his first two terms, Feenstra championed legislation to fortify the border, restrict Chinese land purchases in the U.S., and curb government spending. He also backed bills protecting girls’ sports, opposing student-loan bailouts, and enhancing veteran healthcare and benefits. Feenstra was elected to Congress in 2020 after primarying then-Rep. Steve King of Kiron. Feenstra has secured endorsements from many prominent Iowa Republicans, including Gov. Kim Reynolds, Reps. Ashley Hinson, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Zach Nunn, and Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst. Feenstra is the only Republican to announce his intent to run for the seat to date. Jay Brown, an Ames doctor, and Ryan Melton, a Nevada insurance manager who previously ran against Feenstra, have announced their intent to seek the Democratic nomination for the seat. Elections will be held on Nov.5, 2024.
