June Rose Anderson, age 76, of Jefferson, IA, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 in the care of her sister Debbie in Farlin, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie with Beth Carlon officiating. Burial will be in the Gowrie Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.

June was born on March 25, 1947 in Wayne County, IA, and she was the daughter of Floyd Oscar and Edna Mae (VanToorn) Orfield. She grew up on a farm in Greenbriar Township. She attended grade school in Bagley and Cooper. June graduated from Jefferson High School in 1965. June was married to Duane Lundberg on June 17, 1967. They had a son Randy. She was remarried to David Anderson on April 14, 1989 and gained three more children: Stacy, Steve, and Laura. June began working at the Maid Rite in Jefferson at age 14. She also worked for the Jefferson A&W, Target in Ames, and AAI in Jefferson retiring in 2012. David passed away on July 24, 2020 and her son Randy passed away on August 18, 2021.
June loved her children and grandchildren so much. She always had stories to tell. She would stop whatever she was doing to help them, talk to them, go fishing, sporting events, car races, and whatever they wanted to do. She was also a loving wife and a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews. June was adored and loved by so many. She was a safe haven for those who knew and loved her.
June is survived by her stepchildren: Stacy Anderson (Meghan) of Yucaipa, CA, Steve Anderson (Jane) of Adel, IA, and Laura Smoot (Marcus) of DeWitt, MI; ten step-grandchildren: Camden, Stella, Grady, Violet, Eloise, Madeline, Olivia, Aayden, Ava, and Arya; her nine siblings: sister Arlene Gustin of Grand Junction, twin sisters Joyce Orfield of Farlin, IA, and Joy Meyer (Dwight) of Albert Lea, MN, sister Flo Tarbell of Knoxville, IA, sister Debbie Akin (Gary) of Farlin, IA, brother Dwayne “Bud” Orfield of Ft. Lupton, CO, brother Jerry Orfield of Grand Junction, IA, brother Mark Orfield (Sue) of Osceola, IA, and brother Oscar Orfield (Marla) of Jefferson, IA; many nieces and nephews; other extended family members; and her toy poodle Baby Boo.
June was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Edna Mae Orfield; her husband David; her son Randy; and siblings: Alta Dykstra, Annie Dykstra, Helen Finley, Elaine Finley, Darwin Orfield; and in-laws: Art Dykstra, Kenny Gustin, Lynn Finley, Arlan Tarbell, and Pam Orfield.
