Track Santa On His Christmas Eve Travels With NORAD

With Christmas Eve tomorrow (Sunday), good old Santa Claus and his elves are getting everything ready to make the long trip around the world. He’s not the only one, though. The North American Aerospace Defense Command Center is just as busy, setting up for their annual holiday mission of tracking Santa on his journey. In its 68th year, NORAD Tracks Santa (NTS) will share the location of St. Nick for anyone to check on their website, by phone, or on their mobile app. The program started back in 1955 when a young child accidentally called the unlisted number for Continental Air Defense Command’s Operations Center when trying to reach Santa, creating a tradition for all ages. NTS program manager 1st Lt. Sean Carter says, “NORAD Tracks Santa 2023 is full of new and improved features, including the location, new games and technology, a ninth language offered on the NTS website and more.” Carter says, “Tracking Santa one night a year is an extra special assignment that is taken seriously. At the end of it all through, there is one thing that makes the NTS mission special, successful, and come to life each Dec. 24- the people. The outpouring of support serves as a reaffirmation of the holiday spirit and why we work through out the year to keep this program alive. You can track Santa by going to their website provided below, by phone 1 (877) HI-NORAD (446-6723) or on the mobile app “NORAD Tracks Santa” on the App Store or Google Play.
