Trial For Subject Of Carroll Stand-Off In November Slated For February

Perry-Edholm

The trial for a Carroll man behind an hours-long standoff in November has been scheduled for the end of February. Carroll County District Court records show 38-year-old Perry Anders Edholm pled not guilty earlier this month to first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor. A Carroll Police Department affidavit alleges Edholm entered the victim’s home in the 100 block of W. 12th Street on Nov. 19 and threatened to kill her. Following that incident, Edholm returned to his home in the 1100 block of N. Adams St. and refused to comply with law enforcement’s commands to exit his home. This led to a nearly 11-hour standoff that resolved peacefully around 5 a.m. the following morning. Edholm’s trial is scheduled to begin on Feb. 20 at the Carroll County Courthouse. A pretrial conference with prosecutors is slated for Jan. 25. An aggravated misdemeanor charge in Iowa carries a penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
