The Audubon Police Department is investigating a break-in at the Audubon Golf and Country Club. Police Chief Coby Gust says the break-in happened between Christmas and New Year’s Day but cannot pinpoint the exact date. Gust says the first report came in on Jan. 1, when a community member found an abandoned golf cart by Blue Grass Creek. The following day, Gust received a call about a second golf cart being located at the race track in Audubon. Gust says the cart got stuck into the mud and was abandoned. Gust says golf carts have been returned to the owners, and the only damage observed by Gust was cracked front ends. No further damages have been reported at this time. Gust has inquired about Audubon Golf and Country Club security cameras, but the staff says no footage is available. The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Audubon Police Department at 712-563-2500.
