Governor Kim Reynolds is extending the order for flags to be flown at half-staff until Thursday at sunset. The injunction is in honor of the sixth-grade student, Ahmir Jolliff, who was killed on Jan 4 during the shooting at the Perry High School. Reynolds extends the honor to this Jolliff, his family, and the whole Perry community. Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and the Capitol Complex, as well as public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout Iowa. Reynolds is encouraging individuals, businesses, schools, and other government subdivisions to fly flags at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
