Gasoline prices in the state continued to slide in this week’s fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Jan. 10, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.77, a two-cent drop from last week and down 39 cents from a year ago. The national average dropped one cent to $3.08 per gallon. In retail diesel, average Iowa prices dipped five cents to $3.60, compared to $4.21 per gallon a year ago and the current $3.95 national average. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16. In heating fuels, propane prices and home heating oil climbed one cent to $1.57 and $3.02 per gallon, respectively. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site rose 35 cents to $3.02 per MMBtu.
