Glidden City Park could be getting new shelter house updates to accommodate more year-round activities. During the meeting on Monday, Glidden City Council agreed to an engineering proposal to see what can be done to improve the current enclosed shelter house. City Administrator Brooke Peterson says the project is in the initial planning stage.
Peterson says the main idea behind this project is to update the shelter house for year-round use, but she gives some other potential ideas to improve the structure.
There has yet to be an official plan, but after meeting with the engineer this week, Peterson says she will take the projected cost and layout to the council for approval. Depending on design and contracting schedules, Peterson hopes to complete the project this year for the community to enjoy. The next Glidden City Council meeting is scheduled for Feb. 12.
