Henry was born on December 9, 1938 at his parents’ home north of Lidderdale, IA, to Henry and Elizabeth (Wuebker) Beyerink. He attended school in Lidderdale and graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation, he helped his father on the family farm before enlisting in the United States Air Force. During his tour of duty, he served in the Philippines and was later honorably discharged. On December 20, 1958 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Bruns in Pocahontas, IA. They moved to Minot, ND and later was transferred to Belton, MO in 1962 while he served in the Air Force. In 1963, they made their home in Lytton, IA and then later purchased a farm north of Ralston where he grew row crops and raised livestock for several years until he retired. Hank was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodge and the American Legion all in Carroll for many years. In his spare time, Hank loved playing all types of card games or tending to his large garden. An outdoors man at heart, you could often find him splitting firewood, walking his trails, feeding the birds, spending time down at the river and collecting rocks. He had a special love for Julie’ dog Sadie and would enjoy the many rides with them every morning. But most of all, his family was the most important to him and he loved spending time with them.
Henry is survived by his children: Craig Beyerink and special friend Jody DeMarco both of Bellevue, NE, David (Deb) Beyerink of Carroll, IA, and Julie Knight of Glidden, IA; grandson, Tyler (Macy) Knight of Glidden; great granddaughter, Maylee Knight of Glidden; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his friend, Mary Lou Beyerink; and his brothers and sisters: Irene (Jim) Tyrrell, Dorothy (Martin) Nelson, Mardel (Alvin) Underberg, Darlene Beyerink, Juliana (Clarence) Siepker, Leona (Clarence) Brown, Julius Beyerink, Laverne Beyerink, Marvin (Dolores) Beyerink, and Norman Beyerink.
