Diane was born on January 14, 1949 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, IA, the daughter of Lester John and Lorna Louise (Rose) Knute. She was baptized on February 20, 1949 and confirmed on June 2, 1963 at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden, IA. She grew up on a farm East of Lidderdale, IA, and graduated from the Glidden Ralston Schools with the High School Class of 1967. She then attended Ames School of Nursing graduating with her nursing degree in 1969 and practiced as a nurse in Ames and Carroll.

On December 19, 1970 she was united in marriage to Jay Krogh at Peace Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two children, Chad and Clare. After starting her family, Diane was employed at General Electric until pursuing her passion for photography and opened “The Picturehaus” in Carroll in 1982. It was through this continued work and joy of the customer relationship that Diane was really able to express her love for people. There really wasn’t much she wouldn’t do to get a young one to smile or capture that perfect sunset for a family photo. She was able to leave a lasting impact on a lot of people. Through her years of dedication, she received numerous awards and was an active member of the Professional Photographers of America.

Diane was a fan of a little friendly competition and looked forward to a good game of cards. She especially enjoyed the years of bridge club with a local group of women. In her spare time you could find her caring for her beautiful yard or bragging about her children and grandchildren. There was nothing more important to Diane than her faith and her family. Diane spent her final years at St Anthony’s Nursing Home in the Memory Care Unit where she received exceptional care and it was always felt as though she was their family too.

Diane is survived by her children: Chad Krogh and fiancé Andrea both of Wake Forest, NC, and Clare (Eric) Nagl of Carroll, IA; grandchildren: Noah and Abigail Krogh both of Wake Forest, and Mia and Riley Nagl both of Carroll; sister, Karla (Mark) Stokes of Grimes, IA; sister-in-law, Kris Knute of Glidden, IA; brother-in-law, Paul Rosenau of Prior Lake, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roger Knute; sister, Susan Rosenau; niece, Jill Knute; and great niece, Makayla Pike.
