Joyce Kay White, age 83, of Ralston, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:45 P.M. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with a prayer service at 2:45 P.M. with Pastor Ryan Roehrig officiating. Casket bearers will be Joey White, James White, Jake White, Tony Thompson, Nate White, and Scott White. Burial will follow in the Dillavou Cemetery in rural Scranton.

Joyce was born on October 16, 1940 in Findlay, Ohio, and was the daughter of Harold and Katherine (Oram) Stauffer. She and her siblings were orphaned when Joyce was six years old. They moved to Mooseheart, Illinois, where she attended school and graduated from Mooseheart High School.
On March 12, 1960 she was united in marriage to Joseph “Butch” Verlyn White Jr. at the Methodist Church in Aurora, Illinois. She enjoyed camping, sewing, knitting, crocheting, fishing, and taking care of her garden and flowers. She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter #3001 since 1988.
Joyce is survived by her grandchildren: Shelby White of Arcadia, Iowa, Joseph “Joey” (Miranda) White of Lake City, Iowa, James “Jamie” White of Carroll, Iowa, Jacob “Jake” (Brittany) White of Elgin, Illinois, and Jennifer White; daughter-in-law, Karen White of Glidden, Iowa; step grandchildren: Jamie (John) Kolthoff of Eldora, Iowa, and Steven (Kelli) Kendall of Glidden, Iowa; 10 great grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; special nephew, Tony (Kim) Thompson of Hinckley, Illinois; sisters: Jackie Moddy of North Aurora, Illinois, June (Vern) Thompson and JoAnne Simmons all of Sandwich, Illinois; sister-in-law, Margaret Moore of Hastings, Nebraska; several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Joseph “Butch”; parents; parents-in-law, Verlyn and Edith White; sons: Joshua White, in infancy, James “Jamie” White, Jeffrey “Jeff” White, and Jerrold “Jerry” White; brothers and sister: John Stauffer, Jim Stauffer, and Judy Baker; 5 brothers-in-law; and 2 sisters-in-law.
