Carroll city attorney and pillar of the community, Dave Bruner, was named during last night’s (Thursday) Carroll Chamber of Commerce annual banquet as the 2023 Citizen of the Year. The evening’s emcee, Tim Fitzpatrick, outlined the criteria used to select winners of the chamber’s highest honor.
Last year’s Citizen of the Year, Matt Greteman, introduced the 2023 award recipient. According to Greteman, he embodies the spirit, drive, and philanthropy that had defined Carroll for decades.
Bruner says he was honored to be recognized in a room full of people who have done so much for Carroll. In his acceptance speech, he told the gathered city and business leaders that the community brings the best out of its residents.
Bruner joined KCIM Friday morning, and a link to that interview is included with this story on our website. Other award recipients from the 60th annual Carroll Chamber of Commerce banquet include: Cindy and Tom Bordenaro, Bordenaro’s Meat Market (New Business); Todd and Roger “Chico” Kanne, Community Oil (Heritage Business); Larry Devine, Carroll Times Herald (Public Service); Vicki Gach, Carroll Historical Preservation Commission (Public Service); Katie Kruse (Humanitarian); and Scott and Cindy Heider, Heider Family Foundation (Good Neighbor). Carroll Broadcasting will have more from these award winners in upcoming newscasts.
