A longstanding business in Carroll County, Community Oil, was recognized during last week’s Carroll Chamber of Commerce annual banquet as the 2023 Heritage Business of the Year. Program emcee, Tim Fitzpatrick, says this award is presented to businesses that have demonstrated a dedication to Carroll that spans generations.
Tim Gute introduced the latest Heritage Business recipient and outlined Community Oil’s long history in Carroll.
Community Oil founder Roger “Chico” Kanne and his son, Todd, accepted the award. The pair says Carroll was one of the best places they could have chosen to start and grow their business.
Other award recipients from the 60th annual Carroll Chamber of Commerce banquet include: Dave Bruner (Citizen of the Year); Cindy and Tom Bordenaro, Bordenaro’s Meat Market (New Business); Larry Devine, Carroll Times Herald (Public Service); Vicki Gach, Carroll Historic Preservation Commission (Public Service); Katie Kruse (Humanitarian); and Scott and Cindy Heider, Heider Family Foundation (Good Neighbor). Carroll Broadcasting will have more from these award winners in upcoming newscasts.
