The Lake View Hometown Pride committee accepted the largest donation yet for the Lake View Community Center project. A local donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, pledged to donate $100,000 to be paid once construction of the new building has started. Lake View Hometown Pride board president Brent Mueggenberg says, “We are deeply thankful for the generosity of this donor supporting the Lake View Community Center.” So far, from donations and grants, the committee has raised over two million dollars to complete this project. Bids were received from various construction companies, and the potentially accepted bid is from Sande Construction, based out of Humbolt. City Council will review the $2,228,327 proposed bid at Monday’s meeting. The Lake View Hometown Pride committee still accepts donations for the new community center. Those wishing to donate or pledge can send those to Lake View Foundation at PO Box 711, Lake View, IA, 51450.
