Carroll and all surrounding counties have been placed in a red-flag warning from 9 a.m. this morning until 6 p.m. tonight (Monday) for extreme fire weather. Carroll County Emergency Management says that the record-breaking warmth, combined with winds over 35 mph and 15 to 25 percent humidity throughout the afternoon, will cause any fires to spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended in 51 counties and should be postponed until after the red-flag warning has ended and outdoor conditions improve. Those with questions are asked to contact their local fire departments or the county’s emergency management.
