Ron was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. On January 19, 1957, Ron was united in marriage to Marcella (Marcie) Vogel at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan, Iowa. As an owner-operator he hauled livestock, grain, and sheetrock to Chicago, bringing steel back to Iowa with many trips to Heider Mfg. in Carroll. After 65 years of “truckin” – enjoying every mile he drove, he retired at the age of 83. Ron loved spending time with his family-Marcie, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family adventures and memories included RV Camping at various campsites, lakes and going south for the winter in Arizona and Texas. Marcie and he spent many weekends riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. There were many trips to the Indianapolis 500. Sunday afternoons were spent watching NASCAR.
