More Details On The Fire That Destroyed A Glidden Home Thursday Afternoon

More details have been provided on the structure fire that occurred yesterday (Thursday) afternoon in Glidden. The Glidden Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 2:40 p.m. to 526 E. Fourth St., owned by Timothy Willey, and upon arriving on the scene, flames were observed coming out of the garage. The Carroll, Ralston, Lidderdale, Lanesboro and Dedham Fire Departments assisted at the scene, as well as the Glidden EMS and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Crews were on site for four hours, fighting extreme winds to diminish the flames and keep the fire from spreading. All occupants inside the house managed to exit the dwelling without injuries during the fire. An investigation is still ongoing, but initial reports indicate a wood burning stove in the garage to be the cause of the fire. Willey’s house is deemed a total loss, and the neighbor’s house to the east of the residence also received damage.
