Region XII Council of Governments invites city council members, county supervisors, and other officials to join them for a virtual seminar on best practices when conducting open meetings. The approximately 90-minute meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 13 via Zoom and features Region XII Local Assistance Director Chris Whitaker and Iowa League of Cities Membership Services Director Mickey Shields leading the presentation. Participants will learn the basics of open meetings, how to properly conduct a closed session, records-keeping requirements, rules of procedure, and more. There is no cost for public officials to join the seminar, but registration is required. Details on how to do so are included below.
