Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids is very excited to announce a new outdoor experience being added to its Starfield within the following year. With donations from a Pella Rolscreen Foundation Grant, Aureon Charity Grant, and Wells Fargo- Nick Ludwig, the organization has raised around $42,000 to purchase one of the yurts to be constructed at the Star Field Campground and is looking to raise funding through grants and donations to buy at least one more. Executive Director Kate Zimmerman says yurts aren’t quite as popular as other camping methods but is excited about the new potential opportunity for Whiterock campers.
Zimmerman says that while there is no official timeline for when the 24-foot circumference structured tent will be available, she says it will be in the next year.
With the yurts being booked out until May, Zimmerman says the team has time to finalize more details for the renting policy.
