The Carroll Chamber of Commerce announced today (Thursday) a planned change of venue for the 2024 Live + Local free summer concert series. For the last several years, the popular concerts have been held on Adams Street in Carroll’s downtown, but organizers are shifting the stage to the Depot Centre Park south of Commercial Savings Bank. The Chamber Board of Directors voted to approve the change at their February meeting in response to business feedback about the concerts’ effect on their operations and ever-growing crowds. Each Live + Local draws hundreds of people, but space is becoming more of a concern for organizers. Other than the location change, Live + Local will continue as usual, with attendees encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and coolers to enjoy the show. It is a BYOB event, but hard liquors and glass bottles are not permitted during the shows. Bands are yet to be announced, but this year’s schedule is available, with shows planned for Thursday summer nights on June 6 and 27, July 25, Aug. 22, and Sept. 19.
