Audubon County Has Lifted Burn Ban Restrictions

burn-ban

Audubon County has lifted the burn ban as of this morning, Friday. The ban was placed on Feb. 28 due to high winds and dry conditions. With the light rain and wintry mix occurring and predicted throughout the afternoon, controlled burns are allowed to happen again, with the notifying of dispatch to inform Audubon fire and law officials. Those wishing to perform a control burn are asked to contact 712-563-2631 to provide details on the time and location of the fire to avoid unnecessary callouts. Audubon has been the first in the listening area under a ban to lift the restrictions. As of today (Friday), Carroll, Greene, and Guthrie are still prohibiting burning until further notice.
