Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day With Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park 7th Annual Rib And Soup Cook-Off This Weekend

The Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park invites everyone to its seventh annual St. Patrick’s Day Rib and Soup Cook-Off this Saturday. Doors open at 5:00 for the public to come and start sampling, with the official winner being announced at 6:30 p.m. Hausbarn director Kristina Grossman-Willis says this year’s cook-off will feature a full line-up of different grillers and soup chefs competing to be named the best.

There will be 15 judges focusing on the grilling, the BBQ flavoring, or the soups of the food sampled. Judges include surrounding towns’ mayors and council members, local known individuals, and even Iowa Attorney General Breanna Bird. Grossman-Willis says the judging will be based on a scale critiquing specific characteristics.

There will be food to sample and other fun activities throughout the night, including different donated prizes for the silent auction.

Grossman-Willis says tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance for a cheaper price.

Again, the seventh annual Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park St. Patrick’s Day Rib and Soup Cook-Off is this Saturday, starting at 5 p.m.
