District 5 Supervisor Cindy Scaturico Will Not Run For Re-Election

Carroll County District 5 Supervisor Cindy Scaturico has announced that she will not seek re-election for her seat on the board. Scaturico entered local politics less than a year after moving to Carroll from Virginia. She took office after winning a February 2023 election to fill a vacancy created when former District 5 Supervisor Rich Ruggles stepped down about halfway through his term. While her time on the board will be relatively short, Scaturico says it was time well spent. She counts her efforts to re-establish safety as a critical part of county operations and accountability for the use of taxpayer money as her significant policy wins during her 13 months on the board to date. Candidates interested in pursuing the Republican nomination for the District 5 Carroll County Supervisor race have until March 22 to file their paperwork with the Carroll County Auditor’s Office. The 2024 Primary Elections will be held on Tuesday, June 4. Election Day is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 5.
