Marjorie Susan (Jensen) Sporrer-Schreiber passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Angelo Luis officiating.  Casket bearers will be Marjorie’s family members.  Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery in Glidden.

Visitation will be held from 1 – 1:45 P.M. on Saturday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Carroll Animal Rescue and may be left with the funeral home.

Marjorie was born on January 8, 1941 on her family’s farm in Old Carrollton, IA.  She was the daughter of Niels Sr. and Gwenneth (Leonard) Jensen.  She grew up on the farm and attended Carrollton School.  She worked in Carroll for a local dry cleaners following her schooling.  Marjorie was married to Don Sporrer of Dedham in 1962.  The couple divorced and she was later remarried to Robert Schreiber in 1983.  Marjorie worked several retail jobs in the Carroll area.  She moved to Wilmington, NC in 1995 to be near her daughter where she worked as a convenience store clerk until her retirement.  She moved back to Carroll in 2017 to be close to her extended family.  Marjorie enjoyed horseback riding in her younger years and more recently being outdoors, watching the birds, and working in her immaculate yard.  She loved her beloved dog Snoopy and her current dogs Max and Dolly.

Marjorie is survived by her two children: daughter Pam Nelson (Tim) of Wilmington, NC; son Ryan Sporrer of Elk Point, SD; one granddaughter Emily Nelson of Greenville, SC; a sister Marlene Prill (Wayne Hart) of Lanesboro; two brothers Barry Jensen (MaryAnn) of Carroll, and George Jensen of Marietta, GA; a special niece Linda Emery (Wendel) of Jefferson; and many other extended family members.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Niels Sr. and Gwenneth Jensen; brother Niels Jensen Jr. and his wife Virginia; brother Orlando “Bogie” Jensen and his first wife Evelyn and his second wife Jane; and brother Henry Jensen at age 3.
