A Guthrie County woman has been charged with insurance fraud, obtaining almost $3,000 from an insurance company for submitting a false renters insurance claim. From this investigation, which began in Oct. 2023, 54-year-old Jeannette Gerloff of Yale was arrested on March 8 and charged with allegedly presenting false information, a class D felony, and second degree theft, a class D felony. Gerloff has since been released on her own recognizance after appearing in court. By allegedly providing false statements to her insurer, Gerloff was able to receive $2,487.34 in the false claim. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 22.
