Fuel prices went slightly up this past week in Iowa according to the latest update from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, March 13, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa rose to $3.17 per gallon, up three cents from last week, but still below the $3.23 per gallon from a year ago. Iowa still remains below the U.S. average, which sits at $3.40, up one cent from last week. Retail diesel prices increased by one cent from last week to $3.78 per gallon. The U.S average for retail diesel saw a slight decrease, to $4.04 per gallon from the $4.06 per gallon price of last week. Wholesale ethanol prices remain unchanged at $2.16 per gallon. In home heating fuels, propane prices remained steady at $1.59 per gallon, but a four-cent increase occurred to home heating oil, setting the current price to $3.18 per gallon. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub Reporting sight dropped from $1.93 to $1.68 per MMBtu.
