Calhoun County Board Of Supervisors Holding A Town Hall Meeting With Public Regarding The Windmill Ordinance

There will be a town hall meeting tonight at the Calhoun County Courthouse in Rockwell City to discuss the windmill ordinance and the new proposed National Grid Renewables Camp Creek Wind Farm. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor of the courthouse and will include the Board of Supervisors and a representative from National Grid Renewables to answer questions and to listen to any concerns that may be brought up with this large-scale project for Calhoun County. District Three Supervisor Carl Legore says this is a chance to update the ordinance to accommodate for current windmill structures.

Legore says the Minnesota-based National Grid Renewables, is looking to build a wind farm in the western part of Calhoun County, but before anything gets decided, the Board of Supervisors wanted the input from those living in Calhoun and surrounding communities.

Legore says the board wants to hear from individuals whose lives were impacted from windfarms, whether it is a good or bad experience.

The town hall meeting again will take place tonight at the Calhoun County Courthouse on the second floor in Rockwell City starting at 7 p.m. and the public is encouraged to attend.
