The Carroll Community School District Closes In On Finalizing Budget With Two Public Hearings Scheduled For April

The Carroll Community School District is in the last stages of setting the certified budget for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, and the Board of Education has approved the public hearings to have the district’s budget finalized. The public hearing for the proposed property tax levy is set for April 1 at 6:30 p.m. before the Board of Education’s regular work session. Nicole McCarville, Director of Business Affairs, asked to push back the regular meeting from April 15 to April 22 to accommodate the new state guidelines when setting the tax levy and having the public hearing for the certified budget.

The proposed property tax rate for FY25 is $9.88355 per $1000 of assessed taxed value. The increase is due to a rise in property valuations and an increase in the management fund levy to plan for an rise in property and liability insurance premiums. Again, the public hearing for the proposed property tax levy is set for April 1 at 6:30 p.m. the public hearing to set the certified budget will be on April 22 at 6:30 p.m.
