Four nurses in the Carroll Broadcasting listening area have been named a Great Iowa Nurse of 2024 through the Great Iowa Nurse program. There were 108 winning nominations for this award, identifying nurses who demonstrate the highest quality of service to patients, leadership, and serving as a role model for others in the nursing profession. St. Anthony Regional Hospital had one nurse to be named for this honor, Stephanie Neumayer, BSN, RN, MedSurg-BC, PED-BC, who serves as a clinical nurse educator at St. Anthony. Her nomination read: “ Integrity and curiosity are Neumayer’s superpowers. She thoughtfully identifies and pursues ways to improve patient experiences, nursing processes, and staff disposition through mentorship, education, and policy development. She is committed to preparing her staff to deliver safe, competent, and thoughtful care.” Guthrie County Hospital (GCH) proudly announces Jentry Hise- LPN for the GCH Clinics. She was nominated not only for her dedication to working at the clinic longer than anyone else, but she also serves the town as the only nurse in town on boards and volunteers for organizations and fundraisers. Her hard work and dedication to the community speaks for itself as she always demonstrates compassion for the community and the nursing field. Crawford County Memorial Hospital’s (CCMH) Samantha Pauley, who works in the emergency department, was nominated for all the amazing qualities she embodies: kindness, compassion, patience, loving and commitment. She takes the extra time to make sure her patients feel heard and cared for with every interaction. She has reset the standard when it comes to the expectations of nurses. Greene County Medical Center Family Medicine Clinic Provider Sara Fleecs, ARNP, was also selected as a winner for this honor. Fleecs’ nominator said she is the best nurse they have ever worked with. She has a calm demeanor that brightens anyone’s day, and her devotion to patient care is something all should strive to achieve. She demonstrates extraordinary service to patients by going above and beyond each day. These nurses will be featured at a virtual award ceremony this upcoming spring.
