Commuters who travel Iowa 39 south from Odebolt to Denison should be prepared to see some delays in travel due to upcoming construction. Beginning tomorrow (Wednesday), and continuing through late April, the road will be closed off to allow crews to improve the road’s surface. Drivers along the route will be guided on a detour route, but homes and business will still be able to be accessed. The Iowa DOT wants to remind drivers to help keep everyone safe on the road, by driving with caution, obeying any posted signs, staying alert, allowing for space between vehicles and to wear seat belts. Any violations occurring in work zones will result in a fine that is at least double the amount of the regular infraction ticket price.
