District 4 Representative Randy Feenstra will be hosting a Military Academy Day next week for Iowa students interested in pursing a military service career. This will be for 8-12th grade students who are considering applying in one of the five military branches. Feenstra’s invited a representative from the U.S Coast Guard, Military, Naval, Merchant Marine, and Air Force Academies who will present information, answer any additional questions, and provide advice for the inspiring students. Feenstra’s Military Academy Day will be held at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge on Thursday, April 4 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Feenstra says “Our military is the strongest fighting force in the world due to the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who wear the uniform and defend our freedoms. We can never adequately thank our troops for risking their own lives to protect our communities and our nation. I encourage any student interested in applying to one of our nation’s military academies to attend this event. This is be a unique opportunity to hear directly from representatives from each of the academies and learn more about the application process.” Anyone with further questions is asked to contact Jim Oberhelman, U.S Military Academy Coordinator for Feenstra’s office at 515-302-7060.
