With the construction of the Lake City Pickleball court complex scheduled to start this summer, the pickleball project committee is hosting a drive through fundraiser this week to continue providing funding to complete the project. City Administrator Jacob Matthews says the community support for the project has been able to get it this far, but they still have a little way to go, and encourages everyone to come out this Thursday for a tasty way to support the project.

The pickleball complex has been in the works since last year, with the approval from the city council back in December. Most of the project will be completed by local businesses like Daniel Construction of Lake City, Anderson Construction, Iowa Epoxy and Des Moines Steel Fence Co, Inc.  Matthews says this is a great opportunity for the residents of Lake City and surrounding communities.

The meal includes a steak sandwich, chips, water, and a dessert all for $15, with all proceeds going to the pickleball court complex project. To preorder a meal, people can contact Stacy Corey at 712-210-7045 or Katie Macke at 563-650-2961. Again, the Lake City Pickleball Project Committee is inviting everyone out to the drive-thru fundraiser this Thursday, at Lake City Foods from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
