Two of Carroll’s nursing homes have been recognized as a top performer for Telligen’s B.E.S.T in Class award. St. Anthony Nursing Home and Recency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Carroll both have been placed on the 2024 list, being 2 of the 26 nursing home organizations in Iowa to receive this award. The award is presented to nursing home facilities that demonstrate a solid commitment to ensuring the residents’ safety and quality of care. Both nursing homes qualified for the award because they were a Blue-Ribbon in COVID-19 Vigilance recipient for at least three quarters of the year for 2023, completed Telligen’s 15-minute Emergency Preparedness Assessment to identify gaps in the current plan and were prepared for potential emergencies. The facilities also have 75% of the clinical and management staff complete a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Infection Control and Prevention Training to improve transitions and reduce emergency department visits for residents by five percent from baseline. The organization could also be award if within the top 25% of Telligen’s enrolled nursing homes at the time of award. Both nursing homes were honored with a framed certificate from a Telligen Representative. They will be recognized nationally by other nursing homes to be represented as a role model for how the organizations are to be.
