Local students and those from surrounding schools have been selected to be recognized as a 2024 Iowa FFA Degree Recipient. This degree is the highest award given out to FFA members from the association annually, and the students will be presented with a certificate and a Golden State FFA Degree Charm during the leadership conference next week. To be considered as a recipient, FFA members but have been an active member for at least two years, completed at least two years of agricultural education, earned and successfully invested at least $1,500 or worked 375 hours of supervised agricultural experience program, have a scholastic record, demonstrates leadership, completed 25 hours of community service and participated in at least five different FFA activities, excluding local events. The Audubon FFA Chapter is proud to announce 11 members honored for this degree: Connor Christensen, Corbin Chambers, Oliver Deist, Emily Faron, Mari Cleason, Colton Hansen, Kalee Jueslgadd, Corson Meaike, Aaron Olsen, Kylie Petersen and Daniel Tessman. East Sac County Community School has two members: Sam Schmitt and Caleb Eichhorn. Carroll Area FFA honors six members: Kaia Davis, Maddie Lenz, Mylie Schulz, Laura Steinkamp, and Jacob Stork. Coon Rapids-Bayard FFA has one member being recognized: Jayna Hoffman, and Glidden-Ralston’s Brenna Bowman and Chandler Grossman have also been selected. IKM-Manning has six FFA members approved: Claire Behrens, Hallie Blum, Brooke Booth, Kennedy Eischied, Alexis Gruhn, and Reagan Irlbeck. All students will be awarded the honor next week during the 96th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference in Ames at Hilton Coliseum.
