County Highway M66 Will See Intermittent Lane Closures With A Road Resurfacing Project To Begin Next Week

road-construction-m66

Commuters frequently traveling on County Highway M66 in Audubon County must travel another route or prepare for delays due to the road construction scheduled to begin next week. The almost five-mile stretch on County Hwy M66, or Bluebird Ave, starting from the Audubon/Carroll County line around 100th Street to Co. Hwy F24, will be under construction for a resurfacing project from Monday until the end of May. Crews will remove the original surface’s top layer, widen, and pave four-foot shoulders, and resurface the 22-foot-wide roadway with asphalt. The road will still be open during construction but will consist of lane closures and a pilot car guiding traffic through the work zone. Audubon County is asking travelers to plan accordingly, abide by traffic control signs, and reduce speed, as traffic infraction fines in a work zone are at least double to assist in keeping all crew members safe.
