A Carroll Nurse Arrested For Taking Prescription Drugs From Patients

A Carroll nurse was arrested yesterday (Thursday) for multiple counts of prohibited acts for taking prescription drug medications from her patients. According to court records, 40-year-old Rahni Brower was arrested in Carroll County on one count of prohibited act by registrant, a serious misdemeanor, and for an arrest warrant issued out of Greene County on two counts of prohibited acts of a Controlled Substance, both Class C felonies and two counts of Prescription Drug Violations first offense, both serious misdemeanors. Between the dates of Nov. 29, 2022, and Dec. 2, 2022, Brower allegedly took three different prescription drugs from her patient’s home in the bathroom cabinet while she assigned to care for that patient while employed for Carroll Area Nursing Services. Brower took 12 oxycodone pills from both her patient and her patient’s spouse, as well as Celebrex and Prednisone. The surety bond of $1,000 was posted for Carroll County arrest. If convicted, Brower could face up to 23 years in prison and pay over $25,000 in fines.
