Motor fuel prices in Iowa were down by a few cents in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, April 24, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.28, down four cents from last week and 22 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average was unchanged from $3.66 per gallon. Retail diesel prices in Iowa were also down four cents to an average of $3.75 per gallon, compared to $3.93 per gallon this time last year. Local prices held 27 cents below the national average of $4.02 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16. In heating fuels, natural gas prices rose 29 cents to $1.96 per MMBtu at the Henry Hub reporting site.
