The Audubon County Economic Development (ACED) hosted the first public viewing of its latest project for new housing available in Audubon. Townhomes on Third has been in the works for the past couple of years, with currently two townhomes which will soon be constructed on Third Avenue, between South Division Street and Hahn Street, with the potential to build up to two more in the same location if interest is there. The owner of the lots donated the land to the ACED for this project and ACED Director Sara Slater says the organization is exited and says the location is ideal.

The duplex townhouse units will be 1465 square foot, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. The townhouse will be all on one level, and Slater says more special features are included in with the design.

Slater says the interior can be customized to an extent.

The townhome will be priced starting at $320,000, and a tax abatement program is available for the purchaser. The tax abatement would cover the taxes of the property for three years. Anyone interested or wanting more information on the Townhomes on Third project can contact the Audubon County Economic Development at 712-563-2742.
