This week is Drinking Water Week, a time to recognize the many men and women who keep water flowing to homes and businesses around the clock. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act, a federal law enacted in 1974 by Congress to safeguard public health by creating standards for municipal drinking water services. The 2024 Consumer Confidence Report on Drinking Water Quality was recently released by the City of Carroll Water Department, which found Carroll’s water supply showed no compliance violations for tracked chemicals, including lead, copper, and nitrates.
