City Of Carroll Prepares For Substantial Resurfacing Project During Upcoming Construction Season

The City of Carroll is preparing for a substantial road resurfacing in the community’s central district this summer. According to Public Works Director Randy Krauel, the estimated $2 million project includes more than a dozen streets between 4th and 8th Streets and Carroll and East Streets.

The city is set to receive bids for the project on June 4, and the council is expected to finalize the contractor selection during the June 10 meeting. Krauel says they’ve drawn up the schedule as best they can to limit the impact on the 150 or so properties that will be affected by the construction.

Krauel adds they are also requiring contractors to complete a section before moving on to the next.

Krauel says they hope to complete the whole project within a year, but the final schedule depends on the chosen contractor and the weather.

The city hosted an informational meeting for the public last week, but Krauel says anybody with questions or concerns can reach out to city hall directly by calling 712-792-1000.
