Carroll County Supervisors Approve Application Form For Residents Interested In Serving On Boards Or Commissions

Carroll-County-Courthouse

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors is implementing a new application form for residents who currently serve or are interested in serving on one of the county’s many boards or commissions. Not only will it help county officials maintain a pool of potential candidates for when vacancies appear, Board Chair Stephanie Hausman says it will serve as an annual contact information list.

The form will soon be available on the county’s website at www.carrollcountyiowa.gov. Once that is posted, residents can provide their name, address, phone number, and email and select which boards or commissions they may be interested in joining. Carroll County has more than 30 boards, ranging from Planning and Zoning and Conservation to Veterans Affairs and township trustees. Eligibility for some boards is based on home address. According to District 1 Supervisor Scott Johnson, he borrowed the idea from other counties he has seen use similar programs.

The board voted 5-0 in favor of incorporating the board and commission application during Monday’s meeting.
