Dobson is now up against the Butter Braid® pastries produced by Country Maid, Inc. in the next round. Other surviving contenders include Musco Sports Lighting, an explosion-proof electric motor from the Bodine Electric Company, Safe T Homes from Sukup Manufacturing, the Winnebago Revel, the Vermeer self-propelled baler, and tiki bar boats by Big Huts. Participants can cast their ballots once per day per device online at www.coolestthingia.com. This latest round of voting is open from May 10 through May 16. The top 4 will be announced on May 17, with a final round of voting from May 20 through May 29. The first winner of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s Coolest Thing Made in Iowa contest will be announced during the organization’s Taking Care of Business conference on June 5. Some nominees that have already been knocked out of contention include Fruit Gushers! from General Mills, ambulances from Life Line Emergency Vehicles, Inc., the MARSHALLTOWN Hamburger trowel, and World’s Best Cat Litter® from KENT Corporation.
