Thomas Rest Haven (TRH) in Coon Rapids will be kicking off celebrating National Nursing Home Week next week with a full list of festivities. Starting this Sunday, TRH invites everyone for live music on the lawn featuring Kile Jackson. During the music, The Cuban Corner, Pim’s Thai Food Truck, and Lucky Wife Wine Slushies will be there for the option to purchase food and drinks to enjoy from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Tuesday, the nursing home will host a petting zoo in the courtyard, with popcorn and cotton candy for treats. The petting zoo opens at 3:00 p.m. Al Welsh Orchestra will perform at TRH on Thursday, starting at 1:30 p.m. on the lawn or in the dining room, depending on the weather. The final event will be on Friday, with a performance from the John Richardson Band in the dining room at 4:30 p.m. The staff at Thomas Rest Haven and Park View Assisted Living invites the public to join in the activities, visiting the residents and celebrating everything the staff does to care for each patient in TRH.
