Manning Regional Healthcare Center’s (MRHC) Director of Surgical Services, Joy Blom, RN, has been honored with the 2024 DAISY Award for her exceptional nursing care. Blom’s dedication to her patients has been widely recognized, with praise for her compassionate and quality care. The DAISY Award celebrates nurses who consistently demonstrate extraordinary kindness and skill in their work. Blom’s colleagues and family surprised her with the award on Friday, May 10. MRHC Chief Nursing Officer Michelle Andersen, RN, says, “I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Joy for many years. She has always been selfless caring for our community. It has been a pleasure to watch her grow in her nursing career at MRHC. Joy has thrived here, and her contributions have been invaluable to our organization. She played a pivotal role in reintroducing orthopedics, pioneering new procedures, and consistently finding solutions to benefit our patients, their families, and her colleagues. Thank you, Joy, for your extraordinary care of those we serve!” The DAISY Award honors nurses who exemplify exceptional care, with nominations open to anyone who witnesses exemplary nursing practice.
